Job Description

The Manager of Partner Relations is responsible for contributing and managing business development, recruiting prospects, and sales leads through extensive market research, pipeline development, marketing and sales support. This internal support professional will work in partnership with the Director of Partner Development to develop and maintain a thorough familiarity with all aspects of the assigned regions to include, but not limited to, understanding of the business practices of key advisers, overview of focus territories, geographic locations of agencies, and knowledge of the regional sales style needed to locally attract, capture and market the UBA business model.

 

Role and Responsibilities

Recruiting

  • Leads and conducts proactive market research to create and maintain a robust yet streamlined sales pipeline for the Director of Partnerships.
  • Develop thorough understanding of the unique business needs of agency prospects.
  • Develops and follows-up on leads from a variety of sources including referrals from other Partners, Producers, vendors, conferences, or any other sources, as appropriate
  • Investigates and qualifies leads to ensure they meet our requirement before submitting to Director of Partner Development
  • Provides ongoing service and support to move the lead from prospect to client
  • Evaluates, identifies and recommends recruiting sources that best identifies our prospects
  • Follows up on scheduled meetings and provides information as requested.

Program Management

  • Manage 3 unique UBA member training programs for partner producers, account managers, and compliance professionals.
  • Direct program registration process, proactive outreach to Partners, coordinate presentations and other key logistical items
  • Ensure Partner satisfaction, collect/analyze and share survey responces, troubleshoot, and act as ambassador to UBA
  • Provide feedback from survey results and recommendations

 

Onboarding, Implementation & Customer Service

  • Communicates to the accounting and SVP when to invoice the application and membership fee
  • Manage onboarding process for new UBA members, including ushering agency owners and other key executives through vetting, membership approval process, and subsequent ongoing UBA compliance processes & procedures
  • Act as critical point-of-contact with UBA member contacts regarding ongoing questions, concerns, and benefit-related inquiries
  • At least quarterly for the new members first-year: regularly check in with new member to ensure they are familiar with all the support, processes and procedures.  Re-introduce to areas they may need a refresher course or training on

Marketing

  • Manages, tracks and evaluates all marketing activities in assigned regions to maximize recruiting activity.
  • Strategizes and shares what marketing activities work and doesn't work
  • Play pivotal role in developing materials and coordinating logistics for annual conferences. Infrequently attend and represent UBA at industry functions.
  • Keeps abreast of marketing trends and develops marketing ideas to share with team.
  • Works with Director of Partnerships or other home office marketing associates to coordinate various promotional events.
  • Follows-up on all marketing campaigns to offer additional support and/or schedule one-on-one follow up appointments.
  • Measures cost benefit of activities to ensure UBA funds are used productively

Recruiting Tracking, Recruiting Analysis, Recordkeeping and Reporting

  • Tracks weekly call and appointment activity and report results; maintains records documenting status of appointments and sales results.
  • Remains current on case status, proactively communicating with adviser regarding status of case.
  • Creates and maintains updated database with current prospective agency information.
  • Analyzes activity and results upon request.
  • Provides weekly reports and reviews results during team meetings.
  • Offers ideas, solutions and methods to improve results

Other

  • Participates or assists with committees that touch on their area.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of related experience in recruiting and / or the sales and marketing; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree required in marketing, business, public relations or communications
  • Proven track record of recruiting, sales, and / or account management.
  • Creative, innovative and strategic thinking.
  • Self-motivated and driven to personally and professionally succeed
  • Strong ability to build relationships and proactively generate sales leads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to handle a variety of tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing conditions and requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to make a positive contribution as demonstrated by learning new skills and making suggestions for process/procedure improvement.
